Socks and Skivvies Challenge — Results

Several times a year, our Global Travelers participate in a virtual service project, working to serve together, separately. This February, our challenge was to purchase NEW socks and/or underwear to distribute to those in need through non-profits. 30 members participated in 21 different cities, 13 different states. and 1 international site.

More About Maternal Health in Ethiopia

Our group that recently traveled to Ethiopia visited the Hamlin Fistula Hospital and learned about the efforts to treat and ultimately eradicate this fistula. As part of our exploration of how our club might participate in this work, a few of us met with an organization called Healing Hands of Joy. We thought our community might be interested to learn more about their work and about maternal health in Ethiopia.

A Daring Dozen GTers Visit Ethiopia

In mid-January, 2025, a “daring dozen” Rotary Global Travelers set out to travel throughout Ethiopia for two-plus weeks. Several of us had visited Africa before, but none of us had been to Ethiopia. It was a destination outside the comfort zone for all of us. We learned a lot, had amazing experiences, and built better friendships with inspiring Rotarians.
