We are a club of Global Travelers, seeing the world together. Here are a few of the places we’ve been since our club began in 2021.
We just returned from an amazing trip. Watch for a trip report soon.
Many of us got together and escaped the cold in Largo, Florida, at the home of Mark and Corrine Lewis. We also participated in a service project organized by Colin Beach. Read more.
Member Merna Gill has led multiple small-group trips to Cuba. She has a love of the country and strong relationships, and she loves to share that with fellow Rotarians. Read Lenet Compton’s descriptioon of this recent trip.
This was our first fund-raising trip, and it was a big success. Travelers had a great time, and we raised about $5,000 for our club foundation. Read more about it and see the pictures here.
Fall in northern Minnesota has become a Global Travelers tradition. We gathered at the lovely lake home of Paula and Thomas Schwartz for a chili cook-off, garden tour, pickleball, and lots of great social time. Read more.
And we started a new tradition by adding a service project — a Habitat for Humanity build. Read more.
A number of Global Travelers joined the District 5950 celebration of Rotary on a Stick at the Minnesota State Fair. We even joined the parade.
In June 2024, a handful of Global Travelers flew all the way to Singapore to attend the Rotary International Convention.
In April, nearly 40 Global Travelers, friends, and family shared an amazing tour of Egypt. The trip including celebrating the success of our grant to a liver cancer hospital.
Several dozen Global Travelers traveled to Colombia to meet with Rotarians, celebrate our global grant project, and enjoy the sights of this beautiful country. Watch the video of the trip report here.
A warm-weather get together in Florida has become a tradition. In 2024, Al and Kathy Kowalcyk hosted us at their Bonita Springs home.
In September 2023, Paula and Thomas Schwartz hosted the 2nd annual fall social at their lake home in Merrifield, Minnesota.
Member Nancy Laible led a small group of Global Travelers on an amazing visit to Kenya. They met with Rotarians and visited several projects where the Laibles are important partners. And they shared amazing wildlife experiences.
In June 2023, we gathered for potluck at the home of Nancy and Steve Laible in Fridley, Minnesota, to celebrate our club’s two-year anniversary and to pass the torch to a new president.
A handful of Global Traveling women experienced the wonders of Norway together on the Hurtigruten Express.
We started what has become a tradition, gathering at the lake home of Paula and Thomas Schwartz for a fall retreat.
Our first major trip together as Global Travelers. About 20 of us shared incredible experiences in Vietnam.
Early days of our Global Travelers Club. We sought opportunities to get together in person and strategize. Tough duty planning on a pontoon boat.
In January 2022, we hosted our first “snowbird retreat” in Florida. This has become an annual tradition.
Our members only went to South Dakota, but the baseball equipment and food that we packed went all the way to Nicaragua.
As our Rotary Global Travelers club got underway in the summer of 2021, we embarked on the tradition of combining work and play, especially with water and boats involved. Our core group met at Schwartz’s lake home in northern Minnesota for some serious planning and fun.
