Several dozen Global Travelers will gather in Calgary, Canada in June to attend the Rotary International Convention. Our club social event will be lunch on June 24. We’ll also be capturing video to share at the regular June 24 meeting.
Getting together in northern Minnesota in September has become an annual event. Last year, many of us participated in a Habitat for Humanity service project before the social event. You’ll find more details, including housing options, in this document Plus you can register your interest here (DACdb sign-in required) or using other methods described in the document so we start to get a headcount.
This fall, many of our members are traveling to Ecuador and the fabulous Galapagos. This trip will include participation in a reforestation service project. Learn more about the trip.
In December 2025, we are organizing several days of service in and around Honolulu. On December 6 in the evening. some of us will set sail on a 7-day Norwegian cruise Learn more about the cruise and register here.
The cruise will be a fundraiser for our club foundation if we have enough participation.
We have a number of members who are either permanent Florida residents or snowbirds who winter there. We can count on one of them to host a social gathering, possibly combined with a service project. Members Robyn Ragsdale and Colin Beach plan to host a Superbowl party combined with other activities February 6 – 8 in the Tampa, FL area. Stay tuned for more info.
In May 2026, members Adam Hayes and Jess Gutzwiler are organizing a social gathering and service project near Anchorage, Alaska. Before the trip, member Mike Philson has organized a fundraising cruise (assuming sufficient participation) from Vancouver to Seward. We have other trips in the early planning stages, and we’re always looking for new trip ideas. We have many members who are eager to travel and serve around the world.
The logistics are challenging, but one of our members is trying to organize a trip to see the monarch butterfly migration in Mexico.
A number of our members have expressed interest in visiting Japan. We’re working on a fund-raising trip during cherry blossom time in the spring of 2027.
Several of our members are in the early stages of thinking about a trip to Canada’s Nova Scotia and the Maritime Provinces for the fall of 2027.
Many of our members participate in other trips, often associated with global grants. We provide information about these trips as another travel option for our Global Travelers.
The Rotary Club of Edina invites you to join the 2025 International Service trip to Coban, Guatemala. The purpose of the trip is to deliver 654 life-saving water purifiers to remote villages in the mountains surrounding Coban, in partnership with Resurrection Priory Monastery, St Patrick’s Church of Edina, and the Rotary Club of Coban. Mano a Mano is a grass-roots non-profit community capacity-building organization based in St. Paul, MN. Mano a Mano invites you to join us on a one-week trip to Cochabamba, Bolivia. On this trip, we will celebrate alongside subsistence farmers who helped build and will benefit from the Mano a Mano partnership-development projects that are transforming their communities.
