Travel is in our name and in our mission

Travel is in our name, and it is a core part of our mission. Our geographically dispersed members travel together to visit other countries or to socialize, or both. And our travel typically includes a service opportunity, celebration of a grant, or the discovery of new grant and service opportunities.

Why is travel a core activity of our club?

  • Travel resonates — Our rapidly growing club attracts new members and associates who are curious about the world and passionate to make a difference in it
  • Travel builds goodwill and better friendships — Travel is a social opportunity to get to know fellow club members better. And when we travel, we typically meet local Rotarians and service partners, building relationships around the world.
  • Travel lays the groundwork for future projects — Meeting local Rotarians and seeing the local needs is the best way to discover opportunities for future partnerships and projects.
  • Travel reinforces relationships and success — When we travel to celebrate a project — its inauguration or its completion — we reinforce our relationship with the local Rotarians and the communities we serve. This often leads to future opportunities.
  • Travel can be a fundraiser — Sometimes we travel together just to have fun and raise money for our club’s foundation. Because our membership is geographically dispersed, we don’t run typical fundraisers like golf tournaments or fancy dinners. But we can raise money doing what we love — traveling. We’ve identified opportunities where we receive a contribution from trip organizers based on our members’ participation.

We travel with purpose and have fun!
