ShelterBox, Rotary’s partner in disaster relief, has begun delivering vital aid to the people of Gaza. Despite ongoing fighting and weeks of relentless waiting, six trucks loaded with ShelterBox aid entered Gaza last weekend.
Yet many more trucks remain stalled at the border alongside thousands of other humanitarian aid vehicles desperately trying to reach those in dire need.
These ShelterBox trucks are crucial lifelines, packed with essentials such tarpaulins and rope, blankets, mattresses, and floor mats. They also carry water basins, soap, water carriers, kitchen equipment, and hygiene supplies, including diapers, toothbrushes, and sanitary items.
In the northern parts of Gaza, including the densely populated Jabalia refugee camp, renewed fighting has forced even more people to flee. But there is nowhere safe to turn. Trapped within the border, unable to leave, and with no services to support them, the people of Gaza face unimaginable hardship.
This is not a short-term crisis. The displacement will likely last for years, and ShelterBox is committed to helping people resettle. While immediate aid is crucial, the need for more durable solutions is paramount.
ShelterBox has intensified the production of heavy tents, with the first shipment expected to arrive in Jordan soon. These tents and essential household supplies will provide families with the stability they need as they begin rebuilding their lives.

ShelterBox is not only focusing on Gaza but is also supporting relief efforts in 11 other countries while preparing for hurricane season in the Caribbean and Atlantic.
Much of the work of ShelterBox is funded by Rotary Clubs and individual Rotarians. You can learn more about ShelterBox and their work at shelterboxusa.org.
