Our Foundation

The Rotary E-Club of Global Travelers was founded in April 2021. All Rotary clubs, even international clubs like ours, are chartered as part of a Rotary District. Because many of our founding members are from Minnesota or Wisconsin, we are chartered in District 5950.

District 5950 has a Foundation that is registered in the United States as a non-profit organization (501(c)(3)). Our members and friends can make donations to the District 5950 Foundation and designate our Rotary Global Travelers E-Club or even a specific project within our club as the beneficiary of the donation. Essentially, we have our own Global Travelers Foundation within the District 5950 Foundation. The District Foundation holds our funds; we control their use.

In contrast to most Rotary clubs, we do not have fundraisers to support our Foundation.  Our Global Travelers Foundation is supported by donations from individual members throughout the year.  Donations can be earmarked for a specific project.  You can download the donor form here.

We use the Global Travelers Foundation to fund grants proposed by our club members and to collaborate on grant requests from other clubs. Learn more on our Grants page.

We also encourage our members to donate to The Rotary Foundation (TRF). An international philanthropic organization, TRF focuses on major global projects including

  • Promoting peace
  • Saving mothers and children
  • Supporting education
  • Providing clean water and sanitation
  • Growing local economies
  • Fighting disease (including polio)
  • Protecting the environment.

The Rotary Foundation (TRF) provides funds to District 5950 that are then used to match funds for projects.  These matching funds dramatically increase the impact of our grants.
