INSTRUCTIONS FOR GRANT APPLICANTS
The Rotary Foundation is consistently awarded the top rating of four stars by Charity Navigator, the US organization that evaluates charities to help people support causes they care about by making giving more impactful. This award validates the operational excellence of TRF. We want to mirror that excellence in our club, and with that in mind, we have developed specific guidelines for reviewing grant requests. We are honored that you have approached us for collaboration on your project and celebrate our common goal to serve others.
PROCESS FOR REVIEWING GRANT REQUESTS
The Foundation and Grants Committee will review completed applications (submitted to rotaryglobaltravelers@gmail.com via the form below) on a quarterly basis. Requests are due June 15, September 15, December 15, and January 15. This Committee will use the guidelines below in evaluating applications and make a recommendation on whether the project should be funded and the amount to be funded. This recommendation will be forwarded to our Club’s Executive Committee, who will review the project and the Foundation and Grant Committee’s recommendation. The Executive Committee will then vote as to whether the project should be funded and as to the amount. The decision of the Executive Committee is final.
GUIDELINES FOR REVIEWING GRANT REQUESTS
The Rotary E-Club of Global Travelers Foundation will support both small international and global grant requests submitted from any qualified Rotary Club that fall into at least one of Rotary’s Seven Areas of Focus and meet the criteria outlined in The Rotary Foundation’s A Guide to Global Grants which can be found at: https://my.rotary.org/en/take-action/apply-grants/global-grants. We do not fund local projects, individuals, for profit businesses, religious organizations, political organizations, general operating expenses or endowments. All projects must have a partner Rotary club in the host country.
After the merits of the project are reviewed/discussed, the following points will be considered:
- What is the relationship between the requesting club and Global Travelers?
- Has the requesting club ever supported any of Global Travelers’ projects?
- Is there an opportunity for Global Travelers to travel to the project site?
Currently, the Global Travelers Foundation does not have sufficient funds to provide funding to all potentially qualified applications that are submitted or to provide the full amount of funding requested.
If approved for funding, the grant applicant or their designate may be asked to give a presentation to our club. This helps keep members informed and may provide ideas for future projects and future collaborations.
